Game Features

Dark Omen is a cooperative game, explored campaign style through a variety of Omen quests. Choose from 8 unique characters, each with their own abilities.

Play with 2 to 4 players. One of you might end up a wench and have to fetch drinks.

Each chapter plays from 2-4 hours. There are 4 chapters, so this game will take several sessions to normally complete. Each playthrough will be completely different.

Dark Omen does not use complicated mechanics, however they are designed to give an extremely diverse playthrough, when combined. Strategy and resource management, and the right amount of lucky die rolling will be your friend.

A new experience with boardgame mechanics never seen before!

The unique Obstacle System: The Dark Omen board has several transparent, moveable layers underneath the main (top) board. These layers have black markings which move independently, and change the way you move around the board, battle enemies, and solve puzzles. No two games will ever be alike.

Watch here to learn how Dark Omen’s
main mechanics work: Runethrow, Obstacle Board,
Action Circle, Enemy Board & Battle.

Visko
is wise and old,

and has seen much of the world and its wonders. Over the years, his heavy pack has made him hunched, but bothered he is not. If you find yourself lost, just ask Visko – he always knows the way. His patron deity is Runni.

Parant is a naturalist,

herbalist and healer. He knows many things about the usage of plants, runes, and the ancient powers of the soil. As a hermit he likes to live and travel alone, discovering the mysterious and magical art of healing. His patron deity is Odorien.

Lumi was raised in the swamps

and has a deep connection to its mysteries. She’s an expert on every mushroom and poisonous plant you can imagine. She’s got a rough hide, and a short temper, but she’ll always be at your side when things get ugly. Her patron deity is Vaira.

Niefried is an old war veteran

who’s seen many things in his lifetime. He tries to stay out of trouble these days but trouble seems to find him too often. His mother was a giant and his father was a dwarf, which explains his untypical body structure. His patron deity is Tryor.

Jernhand is a weather-worn shipwright

who lives around the harbor. If he is not using his hands for carpentry, he can be found in underground bare knuckle fights, winning a few coins. He’s a relaxed fellow, unless he’s in a corner… His patron deity is Laturi.

Nyrkki is a savvy merchant

and drives a hard bargain. You’ll find him at the market searching for the next best deal. Highly intelligent, you’ll be grateful he’s around when things get tricky or when your purse is light. His patron deity is Faroen.

Isen-Brida is a dwarf

and proud of it. She’ll be sure to let you know. Only few know that her name is actually just Brida, but she is a master blacksmith, no one crafting ores and hammering steel better than her. Hence the name Isen-Brida. Her patron deity is Bugdast.

Blekkja is shrouded in mystery,

and little is known about her. She lurks around silently in the shadows. While she might relieve a rich nobleman of his coin, she is noble of heart and avoids trouble at all cost. Her patron deity is Runni.

Fear the creatures of Dark Omen

Encounter and battle a vast range of wild enemy creatures, combining your gear, skills, and luck. Combine straight-forward dice battles with tactical resource management.

Choose from a huge arsenal of weapons and gear.

Whether you wield powerful magical artifacts or put your trust into good old steel – you decide on how to evolve your character.

Dark Omen is really nothing like you’ve ever experienced. We’ve brought together elements of our favorite games, and threw in a bunch of silly fun. The game is for casual and hardcore gamers, and everyone in between. Don’t expect your journey to be easy…
